My threads: Floral Scarf

Today was rather windy and instead of going for a sweatshirt like I normally do, I opted for this fitted denim jacket.

After watching too many re-runs of reality T.V I noticed that many of the celebrities that cameras follow around choose to pair denim with bright colors which inspired me too reach for this adorable floral scarf!

The Scarf was a Christmas gift but I haven't truly appreciated its potential until now. I have to admit it was always hard for me to find cloths in my wardrobe that went with this bright pink and tawny brown pattern. Most of the colors that go well with my light tan complexion are darker than the colors on this scarf. In fashion terms, I'm more of an autumn/fall. At least I can rest assured it looks very eye-catching on this wooden table xD

In order to stay comfy on the inside and stylish on the outside (denim tends to be rough on the interior) I wore a brown cotton hoodie. The hood peeps out of the coat collar and comes in handy when my hair is blowing all over the place. xD and I feel like the layering tends to elongate ones figure for all my petite friends out there! So with the hoodie, denim jacket and scarf, I was very cozy and warm. This pairing is truly a success!!!

Not my best picture, but Hey, it was cold! Haha. Thanks for reading!

my world in fall

The days are growing shorter and fall has FINALLY come to visit my part of the world. I hope it stays for a loooong time. Usually, California is hot and sunny for most of the year so windy and chilly weather is rare and much appreciated. this is also a time when the natives around here ( referring to the bunnies and coyotes prepare for winter and a lot of burrowing is done in the land behind my house :p .
Lavender plants that grow in my backyard are begging to go dormant, but I managed to catch the last sign of them in this pic of lavender seed pods.My cat Fernie loooves to roll around in these, which is cute because he comes home smelling like a spa, but also kind of annoying because his big poof tail has millions of tiny seed pods entangled in his fur! He will do anything to avoid a brushing so I discourage him from rolling around in things .

I got this little decoration about three years ago , it reminds me of my cat because its so chubby! xD I'm not sure what the umbrella looking thing on its' head is for but i think it's still adorable . I put it on a bush next to the lavender plants so that it can really characterize Fernie !

Makes me happy

there are many things that make me happy, today it's these:

CHOCOLATE ICE CREAM!!

We are finally over with summer around here but still I find myself craving ice cream by the tubfull. Chocolate is of course my favorite flavor followed by cotton candy and then mint and chip. never heard of them? they look like this :

FOREVER21

otherwise known as the best store ever!!!!!they have such affordable clothing.I am in love with their jewelry too!it's very hard for me too go into their store and come out empty handed

COOKING:

now that school has started I've been cooking a lot more often. my culinary class is very challenging because we are the advanced class. The creme De la creme , if you will. I guess my instructor really wanted to narrow it down because there's only 15 students in this class. These are the ones who are really serious about the profession and to be in this class I had to study foods for 3 years! this picture above features various herbs and spices that i absolutely looove to add to my dishes. In class, the instructor will often times give us a basket of raw goods and we have to make something amazing out of them. i can honestly say that some of the above herbs have been true lifesavers at the end of preparation. fall is also known as baking season in my home, so i will be practically living in an apron pretty soon!

Fall

October is coming quickly and with it, my favorite season. fall! :)))) I just love the weather and something about a windy day makes me feel so content. i love watching people scurry up and down streets to warmly lit homes and slowly, the city begins to prepare itself for Christmas. ( i don't really appreciate all the stores rushing to get into Christmas but it is the season a giving so it must be a big deal for them!) the leaves change into lovely warm colors and the atmosphere trades its warm august zephyr for a chilly October breeze. I love to be indoors when the weather is cold and sip hot chocolate with marshmallows, yummy. And who can forget the cozy fashions that go hand in hand with the season? from fluttering scarves to stiffly folded mufflers, people everywhere join in on the trend of the season (that is, staying warm :P) but fall is a time of color and what better way to display color than in layers? a personal favorite of mine is a pastel green army styled coat that my mom gave me . another thing i love about the season, is the vegetation. pumpkins ( pumpkin pie :DDDDD) squash and gourds, acorns , walnuts, candy corn . ok haha, so candy corn isn't really vegetation, but they always come seasonally during this time of year lol.

ahh candy corn, one of the sweetest gifts of fall. when i was little, i had a candy corn party with all of my friends. good times, good times xD. i have to say that out of all of the variations, my favorite type is the original candy corn flavor. so good!

these are exacltly what the leaves look like here in california! as you can see, none of them are the same, but all are beautifully unique. and everyone should expirience jumping into a pile of leaves at least once in their lives! plus, its a great incentive for cleaning out the backyard. ;) and personally i leave a little extra leaves out in the front yard for color and eye catching appeal. i think fall leaves really capture the spirit of the season...

another awaited E.L.f HAUL and follow up.

For starters, I feel that I owe an apology for putting off so many posts so recently. I have truly been lazy all summer. Proof of this would be the fact that I have two ginormous summer assighnments piling up right now and I have barely touched them with school only 4 weeks away! It's hysterical that the only time I want to do anything is when I am supposed to be doing something else, something that it particularly boring. does that make sense? XD haw haw. kk time for the follow up.:

The foundation brush that many will recall from the previous post, turned out to be a huge succces! It basically does the work of all the makeup sponge wedge thingy's and you never have to throw it away!. Its' bristles are plastic-like and virtually indestrructable, which means no shedding and it never loses it's shape.

I am currently awaiting another E.L.F haul and I am super excited for this one. I ordered the high definition powder, the tinted lip balm, the setting spray, flawless finish foundation, stipple brush, and cream blush. I should be here around next sunday ( it takes about ten days to get here because I live on the opposite side of where they are manufactured.)

elf haul review!!!

Finally! After waiting two weeks the package arrived with my e.l.f cosmetics. So after using the products for about a week now, I am ready to give my review. here goes :P

Lets start with the all over cover stick: I got the product in spice though I could have sworn I ordered it in honey. The point was to get a close match to my skin tone and see how well it worked as a concealer. Luckily, the spice tone did not look too bad on my skin. I think it made my skin darker by a teeeeny bit, but besides that, it could also work as a bronzer. It did a pretty good job covering any reddish spots like on my cheeks but I wouldn't use it to cover blenishes or scars. As for application, it was smooth and creamy. TIP: Warm the product by swirling your finger on the top and apply with your fingertips (less messy and better blending). Also blend quickly because if u let it dry, it will look like you have streaks on your face! Basically, this product gets four stars out of five because it's smooth, has good coverage, and the price is a steal. The only bad expirience I had with this product was the blending because it dries very quickly, and I think e.l.f may have messed up on the color. I give this product a 4 out of 5 as a concealer.

I also ordered the moisturizing lip balm in strawaberry cream. I carry this products everywhere because it really softens my lips and makes them look healthy immediatley. I didnt detect the strawaberry creme flavor that this product is supposed to have but it didn't really matter to me. TIP: do not apply alot on chapped lips! it will collect on chapped ereas and look white and it's impossible to fix it! Use only on even skin. I was a little dissapointed because for some reason, the packaging allowed me to twist the bottom to make the lip balm come out, but it wouldn't twist backwards to make the balm go back into the tube! So I have to be carefull when using it otherwise the cap will smoosh the top of the stick! :( So i would give this a 4 out of 5 because it works lie a charm (on SEMI chapped lips) and the price it's so cheap. I didnt appreciate the packaging tho...

I got two brushes: the essential foundation brush, and the total face brush . The total face brush is definately my favorite brush ever! For one thing, it's HUGE! and it feels so soft. I use it to put on my everyday mineral foundation. It does a really good job picking up loose powder. I have absolutely no complaints about this brush :)))))) The e.l.f foundation brush is a little harder to review because it is the one product I have yet to use! The bristles are smooth but stiff and I dont use my liquid foundation too much so I havn't had the chance to try this brush!. I give the total face brush a 5 out of 5 and the foundation brush is pending.

The shimmering facial whip is one of those products that probobly only works with certain people. I use the lilac petal as a highlighter on my cheeks. It comes in a cute and tiny bottle, but dont worry because you only need a small amount for one use! TIP: It's very sheen so be carefull! I think I would use it more often if it wasn't so shimmery... anyway, I give it a 3 out of 5 because I rarely use it and it has a bit too much glitter for my taste. It does have many uses so if you are creative , I would buy this item ( it's a great bargain :))

The clarifying pressed powder is a great product! it not only minimizes large pores and absorbs shine, but it also helps clear skin. I really appreciated the little powder puff that came with it though i prefer using the total face brush. The compact is slim so I can take it everywhere and it fits in my pocket.TIP: lots of product will get on the powder puff so sweep it across the compact LIGHTLY. I give this product a 4 out of 5. definatley worth buying!

If anyone has recommendations for elf cosmeticts ( or any cosmeticts for that matter :P )I would love to hear them!
