A new bed!

Hey guys! It's a little off topic but I absolutley had to stop and gush about this new bed that I got my cats a few days ago.Last weekend my cats received a new bed to share and hopefully it will keep those little trouble makers off of mine! I think they will quite like it considering that it is some-what roomy so they can hide inside of it.

There is a sheepskin lining on the inside which is certainly going to win over Oreo. Fernie will love the nook because of it's enclosed design, he tends to choose small, dark spaces when he takes a nap.

I am absoutley in love with this animal print on the exterior! What better pattern for a cat bed than cat print? Besides, Fernie thinks he is a wild animal anyways! So overall, this little bed has sheepskin flooring, foux fur lining, an enclosed design, and a killer exterior. xD. I can't believe how spoiled these cats are !

It looks like Oreo is already poking around inside!

Makes me Happy

There are many things that make me happy. Today it's these:

Rosca cake

In Latin American culture there is a special holiday in January called Epiphany, this holiday remembers the three kings that brought gifts to baby Jesus ( it has it's origins in Catholicism). so on January 6th, families come together to celebrate and distribute this cake.

I like to think of it as the Latin version of a Christmas fruit cake (or more like a bread really), except for one exception! a Rosca cake has tiny baby figures hidden inside so that when the cake pieces are distributed, whoever has a figure in their slice gets money. Yes , I am well aware that having tiny plastic figures in your food is dangerous .....

Kumquats

There's an adorable little kumquat tree in my backyard that has been there all my life. Truth be told I don't really care for the fruit but it breaks my heart to see the Kumquats grow so big then wilt after a few weeks, so I always pick them anyways xD

Fernie

It's so funny how my cat Fernie likes to sit with his paws elevated. I have caught him sitting like this a few times and finally got the pictures to prove it! you can totally see his little paws clearly resting on the upper bar.

What isn't very obvious in this picture is how high he his. My cat is peering over a 10 foot balcony into the backyard!

My Threads: knitted scarf (oreo)

I have two cats who are VERY different. One is a girl, Oreo. And one is a boy, Fernie. The two of them fight quite often because Fernie is a little ruffian who like to be outside and Oreo is a dainty and shy little thing who never sets foot outdoors! This is Oreo:And in this picture, I have caught her in the act of rolling around in one of my favorite scarves!!!!!!!!! She likes it because it's comfy but she doesn't know that it's handmade and easy to tear! I guess it's true that cats love yarn. And speaking of scarves , tis' the season for them! It's winter time so bundle up and get something warm on! I would suggest adding a hot cup of cocoa. One thing that goes great with knit ware is cable knit patterns and solid colors. the cable knit provides warmth while the knit scarf, hat, gloves, etc. supplies comfort. Just ask my cat! :D
Cable knit is a type of weave that gives the impression of long chords of thick cables that weave in and out of each other. this technique can be achieved through knitting, crocheting, weaving, etc. It produces a thicker material which makes it common in winter-ware.

Here, I've paired the scarf with a solid green sweater that has a cable knit pattern. A good rule of thumb is warm colors on warm colors, bright colors with bright colors (this is a way to play it safe if you have trouble coordinating outfits. You don't have to be matching, but you should stay in the color shade range) many people are able to pull of the warm with bright style, which I've always admired. I'd love to see how others dress warmly for the season too! have fun showing off your style this holiday season :)
